GUNDHU, Bhaktapur: The hillsides and fields of Gundhu are covered in blooming globe amaranth flowers as Tihar approaches.
The flowers have added colour to the village landscape, with fields and open slopes now dotted with their bright blooms.
Globe amaranth, known as makhamali in Nepali, holds special significance during Bhai Tika, when it is used to make garlands offered to brothers.
With the flowers in bloom, farmers in Gundhu are busy harvesting them and preparing garlands for the festival.
