KATHMANDU- Indian Army Chief Gen. Dhiraj Seth held a courtesy meeting with Nepal Prime Minister Balen Shah on Tuesday.
Gen. Seth met Shah, who also serves as defence minister, at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singha Durbar.
Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava also attended the meeting. Gen. Seth arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday for a four-day visit at the formal invitation of Nepal Army Chief Gen. Ashok Raj Sigdel.
President Ramchandra Paudel on Monday conferred on Gen. Seth the insignia of the honorary rank of General of the Nepal Army. Nepal and India have followed a tradition since 1950 of conferring the honorary rank of General on each other’s army chiefs.
Gen. Sigdel and Gen. Seth also held a bilateral meeting on Monday.
