TikTok Launches ‘Visit Nepal’ Campaign to Promote Tourism

KATHMANDU- Social media platform TikTok has launched a ‘Visit Nepal’ campaign in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board to promote the country’s tourism internationally.

The campaign was officially launched at an event on Friday. It aims to showcase Nepal’s culture, natural beauty and tourist destinations to international audiences through TikTok and position the country as an attractive destination for foreign visitors.

As part of the campaign, TikTok has brought nine international travel content creators from Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South Asia to Nepal. They are visiting different parts of the country from October 30 to November 7 and sharing their experiences with audiences worldwide through TikTok.

The campaign is expected to promote both Nepal’s popular tourist destinations and lesser-known locations to international audiences.

TikTok has also launched a dedicated ‘Visit Nepal’ hashtag page to increase the visibility of tourism-related content. Through TikTok’s Collab feature, the Nepal Tourism Board has partnered with Nepali celebrities and local content creators.

The campaign has also featured livestreams from popular tourist destinations across Nepal. TikTok expects the livestreams to allow audiences worldwide to experience Nepal virtually and learn about places they may want to visit in the future.

The campaign will run until the end of 2026.

Information and Communications Minister Dr. Bikram Timilsina attended Friday’s event as the chief guest. He said digital platforms were increasingly influencing how people discover tourist destinations and make travel decisions.

He said stories about a particular destination could inspire people elsewhere to visit it. He described the collaboration with TikTok as a long-term partnership to connect Nepal’s tourism, culture, creativity and young people with the world.

Emir Ghalen, TikTok’s head of government relations and public policy for the Middle East, Eurasia and Africa (MEA) region, said the collaboration with the Nepal government and Nepal Tourism Board aimed to bring the country’s tourism potential to international audiences.

He said the partnership would not only encourage tourists to visit Nepal but also create opportunities for Nepali creators, support small businesses and enable ordinary people to benefit from the digital economy.

The campaign continues an earlier collaboration between TikTok and the Nepal Tourism Board. TikTok said more than 300 Nepali tourism entrepreneurs and content creators had previously received training through workshops focused on digital storytelling skills.

The partnership is being advanced with the participation of the Nepal government, private-sector representatives, media partners and the creator community, with the aim of supporting Nepal’s tourism sector over the long term.
