KATHMANDU- President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister Balendra Shah attended the traditional Phulpati military ceremony held at Sainik Manch, Tundikhel, in Kathmandu on Saturday to mark Dashain 2083.
Organised by the Nepal Army, the ceremony featured a salute to President Paudel, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Nepal Army.
Flowers were showered from a military helicopter during the event. The Nepal Army also presented military parades, rifle salutes, including coordinated ceremonial firing, and artillery salutes.
Vice-President Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav, Chief Justice Dr Manoj Sharma, Speaker of the House of Representatives Dol Prasad Aryal, National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal, ministers, lawmakers, heads of constitutional bodies, chiefs and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions in Nepal, senior government officials and prominent figures from various sectors also attended the ceremony.
