KATHMANDU – China is sending Nepal $2 million in cash assistance following the devastating Bhote Koshi flood.
Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal said China is sending the Nepal government $2 million in cash assistance, along with two cargo planes carrying relief supplies and two teams of tunnel experts.
Other countries have also pledged assistance to Nepal. India has already sent relief supplies and said it would provide other necessary assistance.
Rescue operations are continuing in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading, which were affected by the devastating flood in Bhote Koshi on Bhadau 10.
Some people trapped inside tunnels at hydropower projects have yet to be rescued.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, excavation work is underway to rescue those trapped at the Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project.
The Prime Minister’s Office said it had received reports that more than 20 feet had been excavated so far.
