KATHMANDU- U.S. Arts and Music Envoy Jessica Lynn, an acclaimed American singer-songwriter, is in Kathmandu for a weeklong professional exchange, mentorship and collaboration with Nepal’s music community, the U.S. Embassy in Nepal said.
During her visit, Lynn will engage with Nepali musicians, artist managers, independent labels, policymakers and representatives of cultural institutions.
According to the embassy, she will share her expertise on international music trends, the realities of touring and strategies that can help local artists reach global audiences. She will also discuss what international labels and audiences look for in emerging talent.
Lynn will answer questions about how the U.S. music industry operates, including business models used by artists, producers and distributors, as well as the importance of building strong professional networks for success in international markets.
She will also lead interactive sessions on songwriting, the music business, digital platforms, copyright and the broader music industry.
The embassy said connecting Nepal’s growing music sector and creative community with international perspectives helps strengthen links to global markets and audiences.
Lynn is also scheduled to perform live with Nepali artists on Saturday, August 29, at The Plaza in Lalitpur, according to the embassy.
