KATHMANDU – Prime Minister Balendra Shah is set to hold separate meetings with the ambassadors of India and China on Monday, followed by talks with acting U.S. Ambassador and Chargé d’Affaires Scott Urbom on Tuesday, according to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs source.
Shah is scheduled to meet Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava at 11 a.m. on Monday. He will then meet Chinese Ambassador Zhang Maoming at 3 p.m. the same day, the ministry source said.
Shah previously held a joint meeting with ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions after being appointed prime minister on Chaitra 13.
At the joint meeting on Chaitra 25, ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions congratulated Shah and wished him a successful tenure.
Shah had planned not to hold one-on-one meetings with foreign diplomats. However, on Asar 23, he held a one-on-one meeting with Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masato Kanda.
During the meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, Shah and Kanda focused their discussions on three areas: promoting good governance in Nepal, economic reforms and infrastructure development.
Following that meeting, Shah is now set to hold separate talks with the Indian and Chinese ambassadors.
