KATHMANDU – The number of people out of contact following the Bhote Koshi flood has risen to 2,498, including 933 from hydropower projects and 589 foreign tourists.
A total of 675 bodies have been found so far, while 7,514 people have been rescued, according to figures released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority as of 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
The number of injured people, including those receiving treatment and those discharged, stands at 219. Surgical medical teams have also been deployed to the affected areas.
So far, Rs 10 million each has been provided in relief to Rasuwa and Nuwakot, while Dhading has received Rs 5 million. A total of Rs 67.5 million has been provided to 15 local governments.
Authorities have sent 37 truckloads of food and non-food supplies so far.
A total of 18,708 security personnel were deployed to the affected areas on Saturday alone.
