Gagan Thapa Takes Oath as Nepali Congress President

KATHMANDU- Gagan Thapa has taken the oath of office as president of the Nepali Congress after being elected at the party’s 15th general convention.

Prem Bahadur Khadka, coordinator of the party’s central election committee, administered the oath to Thapa, who was elected during the convention held from Asoj 18 to 22.

Thapa also signed the oath document, titled Pratigya Patra (pledge document), after reading it aloud.

Following the ceremony, newly elected senior vice-president Bishwa Prakash Sharma welcomed Thapa with a flower garland and a traditional khata.

The election committee said the oath-taking ceremony for other newly elected office-bearers and central committee members would be held after Dashain.
