KATHMANDU- China has agreed to temporarily reopen the Tatopani border crossing for three days during Dashain following an initiative by Nepal’s Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Deepak Kumar Shah.
The crossing will operate from October 18 to 20 after the Chinese side accepted Nepal’s request to facilitate the supply of goods during the festival.
Only cargo trucks will be allowed to cross the border during the temporary reopening, according to the report. The initiative aims to ensure the smoother supply of essential goods during Dashain, a major festival in Nepal.
The decision has been viewed as a result of coordination and cooperation between Nepal and China.
