‘Kabaddi 5: After the Final Match’ Worldwide Earnings Near Rs 100 Million

KATHMANDU – The film “Kabaddi 5: After the Final Match” has grossed close to Rs 100 million (10 crore) worldwide as of Tuesday. Producer Baasuri Films and international distributor Seven Seas International confirmed the earnings details to Koligram.

Baasuri Films said the film had earned Rs 70 million (7 crore) gross at the domestic box office by Tuesday, the fifth day of its release.

According to Seven Seas International, by the fourth day of release the film had grossed Rs 10 million (1 crore) in the US market and Rs 7.5 million (75 lakh) in the Middle East.

Patrick Subedi, a distributor at the international distribution company, said the film is preparing for release in Australia and New Zealand from Thursday. In Australia, advance ticket sales equivalent to Rs 3.5 million (35 lakh) gross had been made by 10 am local time.

More than 3,000 viewers have watched the film in New York City, Dallas in Texas and San Francisco in California alone.

The fifth instalment of “Kabaddi” is being shown in 40 halls across 23 US states. Subedi said the number of halls and shows will increase from the second week. Notably, Subedi has distributed the film in the US since the first “Kabaddi” film.

He said advance ticket sales in Australia could improve further by the evening. “So far 1,500 tickets have been sold, which is encouraging,” Subedi told Koligram.

Adding the collections from some European countries and East Asian countries, including Japan, brings the film’s total earnings to Rs 100 million gross. Given the fifth-day figures from the US and Middle East and the opening projections for Australia and New Zealand, earnings could rise further.

Seven Seas International is likely to make the official earnings breakdown public over the coming weekend. The film, directed by Ramabu Gurung, stars Dayahang Rai and Sirjana Gurung in lead roles.
