KATHMANDU: Mrs World titleholder Chanita Sridaket Krathorn has arrived in Nepal to attend the grand finale of Mrs Nepal World 2026 as a special guest.
On her first visit to Nepal, Sridaket said the country had long been on her bucket list of destinations she wanted to explore.
Speaking to journalists at Tribhuvan International Airport, she said she was extremely excited to be in Nepal. She added that meeting a person from Nepal in January had further increased her interest in the country.
“Nepal has always been on my bucket list. I am very grateful for the invitation to come here,” she said.
Sridaket said she was looking forward to connecting with the contestants of Mrs Nepal World 2026, particularly married women, mothers and women preparing to become mothers.
Her main advocacy initiative is called “Happy Mothers”. She said women should be able to find happiness and fulfilment in their own lives, beyond their roles as mothers, wives or daughters.
“We can be working mothers, we can be stay-at-home mothers, but there is always a woman within us,” she said. “I want to learn about the women of Nepal and understand how they keep themselves happy.”

Describing her first experience in Nepal as wonderful, she said she had been impressed by the hospitality of Nepali people and was looking forward to meeting more of them.
During her stay, she hopes to enjoy views of the Himalayas and, if possible, take a flight over the mountains. She also expressed hope of visiting the Himalayan region if weather conditions permit.
A follower of Buddhism, Sridaket said visiting Nepal carried a special spiritual significance for her because it is the birthplace of Gautama Buddha. She also said she was eager to explore Nepal’s UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Encourages contestants to pursue a clear purpose
Sridaket said she was even more excited after learning that 22 contestants would compete in Mrs Nepal World 2026.
She said she had seen how much effort the participants had put into preparing for the finale and was looking forward to watching their performances in person.
She encouraged the contestants not to focus solely on winning the title but to identify a clear purpose they wanted to pursue.
“You should be passionate about making a positive impact in the world. You should also have a clear goal about what you want to achieve after winning the title,” she said.
Sharing her own experience, she said she had once been an unhappy mother before making mothers’ happiness the focus of her advocacy.
She stressed that women need to prioritise their own happiness and well-being, regardless of whether they are mothers, wives or daughters.
She also advised the next Mrs Nepal World to identify a social cause she genuinely cares about and work consistently towards it. According to her, commitment to a meaningful cause can make the journey towards the Mrs World title more fulfilling.
