PM Shah’s Bijaya Dashami Message: Everyone Must Unite to Remove Corruption, Misgovernance and Political Distortions

KATHMANDU – Prime Minister Balen Shah has said everyone must unite to remove corruption, misgovernance, delays, inequality and political distortions.

Issuing a message of greetings for Bijaya Dashami on Wednesday, Shah said it is necessary to make every citizen feel that “there is a government for us.”

He said that for change, behaviour must change along with thinking. In his view, honest effort, determination and collective hard work will help remove the distortions in society.

“Bijaya Dashami inspires people to give up negative thoughts such as arrogance, greed, jealousy, violence and discrimination,” he said. “On this day, we all need to unite to remove corruption, misgovernance, delays, inequality and political distortions, which exist as demonic tendencies, and to make every citizen feel that there is a government for us.”

On the occasion of Bijaya Dashami, Shah extended wishes for happiness, peace, prosperity and continued progress to all Nepalis at home and abroad.

Describing Bijaya Dashami as the victory of truth over untruth, he said the festival inspires greater harmony, unity, respect and love in society.

He said that in a society with geographic, cultural and linguistic diversity, Bijaya Dashami plays an important role in binding citizens of all classes, communities and regions together. He also said he sees the festival as an opportunity to share closeness with friends and relatives who have been apart for years.

In closing, Shah called on everyone to celebrate Vijayadashami according to their place and capacity, and to exchange harmony, unity, respect and love with one another.
