TikTok Removed More Than 2 Million Videos in Nepal in Three Months

KATHMANDU: TikTok removed 2,036,191 videos in Nepal between April and June 2026 for violating its Community Guidelines, according to the platform’s latest enforcement report.

The removed videos accounted for 0.4 percent of all content uploaded in Nepal during the second quarter of 2026, the company said.

According to the report, 99.5 percent of the videos were detected and removed before users reported them. TikTok also said 92.3 percent of the videos that violated its rules were removed within 24 hours.

Following further reviews, however, 33,503 videos were restored. The figure indicates that some content initially removed by the platform was reinstated after reassessment.

Globally, TikTok removed 188,298,141 videos during the same three-month period, representing approximately 0.5 percent of all content uploaded to the platform.

Of the videos removed worldwide, 183,344,707 were taken down using automated detection technology, according to the company.

The report said 99.5 percent of the globally removed videos were identified before users reported them, while 92.7 percent were removed within 24 hours. A further 6,262,383 videos were restored following additional reviews.

TikTok also reported enforcement actions against accounts suspected of being fake or violating age-related rules.

The platform removed 146,807,400 fake accounts worldwide during the quarter. It also removed 26,840,767 accounts suspected of belonging to users under the age of 13.

In addition, 278,384,463 comments were removed for violating Community Guidelines.

The company said it continued monitoring live broadcasts and enforcing its rules on TikTok LIVE. According to the report, 2.4 percent of published LIVE content was suspended.

As part of its enforcement measures, TikTok removed monetisation access or issued warnings in connection with 76,721,093 LIVE sessions and 26,781,135 LIVE creators. Following further reviews, 2,398,846 LIVE sessions were restored.

TikTok publishes quarterly reports on the enforcement of its Community Guidelines. Its latest report highlights the extensive use of automated systems to identify and remove content.

However, the figures mainly show the volume of content removed and subsequently restored. A more detailed assessment of the types of violations and the effectiveness of enforcement would require additional information.

The full second-quarter 2026 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report is available through TikTok’s Transparency Center.
